One of the hottest names quickly growing is Lil Skies, already gathering a loyal fanbase and experimenting with different sounds. One of the main high points with a lot of the new school up-and-comers is their drive to explore how they can affect different sub-genres within hip-hop with Lil Skies doing his part to contribute to. With the success of his Life of a Dark Rose album, Skies is swiftly becoming a favorite among the newer class of rappers. Noticing his talent and wishing to continue pushing him to reach his potential, Sony/ATV Music Publishing has signed him to a worldwide publishing deal.
Taking care of the rights to his music, Sony will oversee Lil Skies' future releases as they wish to be there to watch him blossom into his full form. Sony/ATV Vice President Ian Holder issued a statement on the newest member of the Sony roster, saying, "As much as we love what he’s doing right now, I believe he’s only scratching the surface. I think when we are able to look at his body of work years from now, we’ll find an artist who continues to evolve."
Lil Skies, unfortunately, had to cancel the remainder of his tour for unforeseen health issues, but as he recovers, he will almost surely continuing dropping off new tracks throughout the year, exactly as he has done with the Rich The Kid collab "Creeping" and his solo track "Pop Star."
