There's been heavy talk around Eminem's upcoming album for quite some time. Of course, whenever he does decided to drop an album, the hip hop community rejoices at the fact that he came out of his Detroit cave. Recently, his manager, Paul Rosenberg, tweeted a picture of an advanced physical copy of Yelawolf's Trial By Fire album. However, the image posted to Instagram may have dropped a huge clue to Em's upcoming album.
In the picture that Paul Rosenberg posted to his Instagram, it included Paul Rosenberg holding the physical copy to Yelawolf's album in front of a window. The window faces a building with an billboard ad for a product called "Revival" with a backwards E that's been synonymous with Eminem's logo.
This is where things gets interesting. Redditers ended up finding the actual ad online as well as a website for the medication, Revival. The link to the ad reveals that it's been placed by Interscope Records. And a further inspection of the website reveals a few more clues as to why Eminem's album may be called "REVIVAL." The ad on the website also says it expires on November 21st, leading many fans to believe that will be the albums release date.
Another clue that was revealed is at the bottom of the websites page. It reads, " REVIVAL does not cause these side effects, but if you have them you should for sure seek medical attention, “I need a doctor”." A reference to his collaboration with Skylar Grey and Dr. Dre. The video ad on the website for Revival to cure a "Atrox Rithimus", a fake disease, also drops a few subtle hints. For one, the background music is a piano rendition to "I Need A Doctor." There's also a few references to Eminem's hit song "Lose Yourself" throughout the video as well.
Now, there's also a phone number at the top of the website. When you call 1-833-243-8738, you again, hear the same version of "I Need A Doctor" and an automated voice says "Thank you for your interest in Revival, the No. 1 slightly invasive treatment for Atrox Rithimus. You only get one shot to beat AR." As you hold on a phone a bit longer, the automated voice nonchalantly says, "We give you some serious fucking credit for sticking through this ad."
The last hint to it all is at the very bottom of the page. The website says the product is "Manufactured by Pompsomp Industries" which is a reference to a website Em launched called "Celebrity Rehab" at the time Rehab dropped. Around the same time, Em tweeted for the first time a picture of himself outside of a place called "Pompsomp Hills."
The investigation behind Em's album title is just as crazy as Interscope's marketing scheme. But leave it to the internet to crack down on the important things.
