If you love Issa Rae and you love her series Insecure then you'll probably be excited to know that she has two more programs on the way. Deadline reports that her empire is growing as HBO has greenlit her upcoming comedy and drama.
The comedy is called Him or Her and will follow a bisexual black man and the two different worlds of him dating both sexes. Former Daily Show writer and Emmy-winner Travon Free will help write and executive produce. The next is called Sweet Life and will be set in Windsor Hills - also known as the black Beverly Hills - and will be a coming of age one-hour drama around teenagers growing up in the neighbourhood.
With all that's on her plate, Issa is also set to deliver her third season of her most loved show, Insecure, slated for a 2018 season premiere.
The 32-year-old was recently at Miami’s Art Basel where she chatted about succeeding in her industry as a woman of colour.
"There is nothing that fuels me more than being doubted. That’s my drive; that’s when I become unstoppable," Issa said. "Like, “Oh you think I can’t do this?” or “Oh, I’m beneath you?” Well, I’m just going to prove you wrong. It’s very much a silent fight, and I’m just like, “Bring it on.”"
