With exception to a couple releases in April, “Thrive” & “Aint The Same,” R&B duo THEY. have been relatively quiet since they dropped off their Hyena album last year. Well thankfully that changes here today as Drew & Dante decide to return to the scene and share a new song just in time for Father’s Day called “Pops.”
As the title depicts, Drew & Dante deliver a soft-spoken, guitar-driven record that finds them reflecting on their childhood with their pops, among other stories. Paying homage to all fathers out there, THEY. have teamed up with select barbershops and are offering free hair cuts to all the dads.
“In celebration of Father’s Day and our next single “Pops” , we’ve teamed up with select barbershops. Take your Dad to get a free haircut on us,” They tweeted.
Take a listen to the fatherly-love record and sound off in the comments (below). Record available on iTunes.
Quotable Lyrics:
Some days Id screamed I cant stand you
And then he slip up and say he wish he never had me
I closed the distance once that nigas moved to Cali
I wish I never moved to Cali
I cant even hold a grudge no more
Tough love don't make me grow up
City full of niggas that I really don't trust
and Im young, so I think Ill call ‘em over
