When Jeff Wootton, lead guitarist of the Gorillaz, Jamie Reynolds of the Klaxons, and four of their fellow musicians joined up to become a supergroup, they knew that they'd have to do something special for their first release. As a result, they recruited rap's supervillain, MF DOOM, for their first single, "Drop The Bomb."
DOOM was featured on Gorillaz Demon Dayz album in the past, so the connection between him and this group already exists. What resulted was a glittering, upbeat song about war, and the nuclear bomb attacks on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The contrast between the music and the lyrics helps to exemplify the horrors of violence, and how desensitized society has become to killing.

Quotable Lyrics
Drop jewels like they drop toxic napalm
Or even they one of their most prized possessions the H-bomb
Guaranteed to kill for generations to come
And degenerate their own civilizations to bunch of bums
