Timothée Chalamet is only 22 but he's had a lot of experience in the acting world. Like anyone who pursues art though, there's always that little bit of discouragement that occurs pursuing their dreams. In a recent interview, he advice that Kid Cudi gave him that essentially saved his career.
Timothée Chalamet landed on GQ's latest cover story where the young actor spoke on some of the issues he faced while he was on the rise. He detailed a low point in his career around the time he landed a role for Insterstellar. He was feeling particularly discouraged after receiving constant rejections. He got to the point where he was unsure if he could handle getting any more rejections but thanks to Kid Cudi, he received some advice that built his confidence right back up.
At a critical juncture when the walls were closing in, Timothée spent a couple hours with one of his personal gods, Kid Cudi. Backstage at a show in Montreal, Cudi described his own lows and the single-minded determination that forced him to double down on his efforts to perform his way out of trouble. Timothée excused himself to run home so he could write down everything he'd heard. He keeps the notes on his phone. The takeaway was: Are you, Timothée, the sort of person who can't possibly live any other way? "Fuck yeah."
Shortly after that time, Chalamet met Luca Guadagnino, the director of the critically acclaimed film Call Me By Your Name. That film ended up landing Chalamet a nomination for Best Actor at the Academy Awards.
Overall, it's safe to say that whether Kid Cudi drops gems through his art and in real life.
