Under fire for his Snoop Lion moniker, Snoop has been asked by one of the members of Bob Marley And The Wailers, along with a Rastafarian Council, to stop using their culture falsely.

Snoop turned some heads this past year when he announced that a pilgrimage of sorts to Jamaica resulted in him learning he was reincarnated, and that he would be adopting the Rastafarian personae Snoop Lion.  Since then, he has released some Lion material interspersed with Snoop Dogg tracks, and his obvious non-commitment to Rasta culture has angered some, including Bunny Wailer, of Bob Marley and the Wailers.  There are also leaders of Rastafari council who have taken exception to Snoop’s adaptation of their culture.

Speaking to TMZ, Bunny Wailer was bothered by Snoop’s documentary “Reincarnated” which chronicled his transformation into the Rasta culture, as Wailer feels it was dishonest and exploitive, saying Snoop has portrayed, “outright fraudulent use of Rastafari Community's personalities and symbolism,” adding he’s also failed to make good on, "contractual, moral and verbal commitments."

A group known as the Ethrio-Africa Diaspora Union Millennium Council have taken up a cause against Snoop and asked for him to desist with the Lion personae.

It will be interesting to see if this is over monetary commitments, and if the issue is not resolved, will Snoop continue with his “reincarnated” image.
