Famous Dex aka "Dexter", as he is affectionately known, is not one to be left out in the cold. In the busy month ahead, Dex has positioned himself right smack in the middle. He took to Instagram yesterday to announce a new single set to drop one week from today. Along with the announcement of the song, titled "Japan," Dex included the artwork to accompany the project. The cover plays out like a scrapbooking arrangement of Japanese tropes, including back to back Pikachus, a samurai with a visor, an anamorphic skull, Hello Kitty, and a mini-representation of Famous Dex in the bottom right corner.
Dex had previously hinted at a March 23rd release date for his next full-length LP. Snippets of "Japan" have been around since the onset of winter, whereas the official release date and its packaging have only now made it to press. The culture of hip hop has found a home in Asia. Subsequently, Japanese cultural exports have been grossly fetishized, dating back to the popularization of translated anime in North America. Rappers have been quick to jump on that wave.
Keep it locked for "Japan" dropping 3-16- 👨🏽🎤👨🏽🌾
