If you're a fan of television comedies, you might have good reason to be excited. Vulture has reported that Will Ferrell and Adam McKay are headed over to Netflix in order to produce a brand new comedy series.
Unless you've been trapped at the bottom of a pit for the past 20 years, you already know who Will Ferrell is. The 50-year-old comedian was a Saturday Night Live cast member for seven years, and has starred in an uncountable amount of classic films, including Anchorman, Step Brothers, and many others.
You may be more forgiven for not knowing who Adam McKay is, but just know that he's just as responsible for Will's movies as Will himself. He's co-written and directed almost everything Will has starred in. He's also an accomplished director on his own, having helmed the Academy Award-nominated housing crisis flick, The Big Short.
While concrete details about the show are slim, we do know a couple of things for sure. The show is set to be titled Dead to Me, and is set for a 10 episode run. The show's plot is described as a "powerful friendship that blossoms between a tightly wound widow and a free spirit with a shocking secret." That description doesn't lend itself to Will playing a starring role in the series, but it's entirely possible that he might turn up somewhere.
There's no other word about possible casting decisions as of now, so we'll have to wait and see when new details are released to know more.
