Despite being weeks removed, you can still feel the fallout from the tragic shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in February. However, the country is making moves towards gun reform, with companies changing their policies for the betterment of the nation. Survivors of the shooting have also been making their rounds, speaking on the event and suggesting ways to prevent something like this from ever happening again. Unfortunately one of those students, David Hogg, is receiving death threats for his beliefs.

Hogg's family have contacted the FBI following a series of online death threats. David's mother, Rebecca received startling comments from NRA supporters on her Facebook photos. One comment read, "You can change your settings, but you can never change your faces, your whole family is exposed because of your piece of shit kid, btw his whole plan has backfired on him, i’m sure his birthday celebration will be an interesting event… f**k you and him God Bless the NRA and the right to bear arms, wrong crowd to f**k with idiotsticks.”

After a handful of messages, the family decided to contact authorities, including ones in Canada; one commenter's profile said he lives there. It's unfortunate that David's views aren't only opposed but are landing his family in trouble. Rebecca made a statement to TMZ saying, "the family understands that, while some people don’t agree with their anti-gun message, that shouldn't give them the right to threaten or intimidate her family, particularly through social media." We doubt the threats will deter David and his classmates, and we hope the authorities will stop the hate messages in their tracks.
