It looks like a Dipset reunion might be right around the corner. Before Juelz Santana, Jim Jones, Cam’ron & Freaky Zekey, took over Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City Tuesday night, the iconic New York group decided to make their way by MTV’s TRL Tuesday afternoon and talk about getting back together one more time for the fans.
While chopping it up with host DC Young Fly, Jim Jones spilled the news that the crew is working on a new EP at the moment, which will be 7 songs in length. “We’re working on a Dipset docu- EP right now so it’ll be very dope/ movie/ 7 songs” Jones revealed.
Later, Juelz added that the group is back in full effect. “One thing I wanna put out there a lot of people. Like I said we back in full effect so if you hear a song with just Jim & Cam sometime or just me and Jim, that’s how its always been.” Juelz said.
Unfortunately, they didn’t reveal any further information about the EP like when we could expect to hear it or what's going to be called, but its safe to assume their recently released single “Once Upon a Time” will see life on it. The crew is reportedly set to shoot a music video for the single this week in Manhattan, so more signs are pointing to the reunion actually happening. This isn’t the first time the guys said they were getting back together though. The group promised similar things in 2011 and then again in 2015 when they broke up and got back together again so hopefully this actually sticks.
The news of this upcoming Dipset reunion surfaces just a couple weeks after member Cam’ron, who was absent from TRL Tuesday, released his own mixtape called The Campaign, which featured 15 songs in total and guest appearances from Sen City and Mimi.
