Erykah Badu will be hosting the Soul Train awards once again.

The Soul Train Awards is among one of the more important award shows on television. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the award show since it began in 1987. They've already announced some of the performers and the nominees. Today, it's revealed that Erykah Badu will be hosting the award show for a third time in a row.

In a report from Billboard, they say Erykah Badu will be leading the award show this year. This marks the third year in a row that she's the host. She took on the hosting gig for the 2015 and the 2016 awards in the past. The award show is set to film on November 5th at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. It will later air on November 26th on BET and BET HER. Erykah Badu also performed last year during the BET Soul Train Awards. While she may have not released much music this year, we're hopeful that she may deliver another stunning performance as well.

The nominations for the award show recently came out. Solange is in the lead with seven nominations including Best Album, The Ashford & Simpson Songwriters Award and Song Of The Year. Meanwhile, Bruno Mars sits behind her in nominations with six. SZA is also nominated for four categories as well. Other artists with a notable amount of nominations include Rihanna, DJ Khaled, Bryson Tiller as well as Khalid. As usual, the BET Soul Train Awards continue to honor some of the best artists out right now within the R&B and Hip Hop field.

They've already announced their first wave of performers as well. Unfortunately, none of the our favorite hip hop acts look like they'll be taking the stage but they'll definitely be including performances from some of the most revered R&B and Soul stars. They've already announced Toni Braxton and SWV as performers for the evening. However, Braxton will receive the Don Cornelius Legend Award while SWV will be presented with the Lady Of Soul Award. Along with them, Tamar Braxton, 112, Tank and Kirk Franklin will also take the stage. It's definitely rounding up to be a memorable award show.
