"Camila" is taking over the global charts.

Camila Cabello is probably starting off the New Year better than most artists out there right now. The 20-year-old singer released her debut album Camila last week and already the 11-track project has seen major success.

Since the release on Friday, January 12th, Camila has taken the number one spot on 100 iTunes charts around the world, labelling the singer as the first solo artist to achieve that many spots in the platform's history. The album only fronted one feature from Young Thug on the popular single "Havana" while the rest of the tape boasts her solo singles, showcasing her bold impression of her talents that signifies her standing in the music industry.

Leaving her girl band Fifth Harmony has proved worthwhile for Camila, who recently stated that her attempts at solo recording were not well received while she was associated with the other ladies - Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane and Lauren Jauregui. "It became clear that it was not possible to do solo stuff and be in the group at the same time,” she said. "If anyone wants to explore their individuality, it’s not right for people to tell you no.”
