Today, Chicago rapper Montana of 300 released his latest album, Pray For The Devil, consisting of 11 bars stuffed to the brink with nothing but #BARS. Montana has a gift for making every single line count, and nowhere is this more true than on his album closer, "The Crow."
The production, handled by Pezey Crack, sets the tone nicely. Lead solely with a pitched up organ melody and punctuated with the cawing screeches of crows, the beat is sparce enough to give Montana enough room to let his pronunciation hit it's mark, while giving him the impression that he's rapping to you straight from the gateway to the underworld.
There isn't a wasted syllable here, as every line acts as its own self-contained punch line. Chances are, every time you hear it, you'll pick up something new.
Quotable Lyrics
We stopped what I'm doin' like hold up a second
No PlayStation game, I was loading that tech in
My opps caught them bullets with no interception
I shot the crap out 'em like rolling a seven
