DJ Clue was arrested early this morning after being stopped at a local checkpoint.

Former mixtape DJ and radio personality, DJ Clue, was arrested this morning after police stopped him at a checkpoint in Lower Manhattan.

The Power 105.1 radio show host was pulled over in his black Range Rover at approximately 2 AM local time, NBC 4 New York reports. When police checked the DJ's I.D. they found his license had been suspended eight times. When police went to arrest him on the charge of a suspended license, they searched him and found three pills wrapped in foil.

DJ Clue was taken into custody and charges with criminal possession of a controlled substance and aggravated unlicensed operator.

[UPDATE: DJ Clue has been released from custody.]

We reported yesterday about DJ Clue, a Power 105.1 deejay and radio show host, who was arrested for driving with a suspended license as well as a drug charge, after being stopped at a routine checkpoint. The DJ has since been released, and his lawyer denies the allegations against him.

DJ Clue's lawyer, Xavier Donaldson, maintains he's innocent, and released the following brief statement, "He [DJ Clue] doesn't drive around with a suspended licence nor does he drive around with any illegal items."

No court date has been set yet, but it sounds like DJ Clue will be fighting the charges against him.
