Lil Pump's "Gucci Gang" has been given the SNL parody treatment. On this week's episode, hosted by Sam Rockwell, the underrated character actor portrayed another underrated character, Stanley Tucci, in a bit called "Tucci Gang." Pete Davidson, who has previously portrayed a Pump-esque character called Lil DooDoo on the show, dons pink dreads and raps about that "the guy from the Hunger Games" in a clip that mirrors Pump's popular high school-set video for his hit.
If you didn't know who Tucci was before, you should have a full knowledge of his filmography, from The Devil Wears Prada to Big Night (for which he served as both writer and director, Pump clarifies) by the end of the clip. While Davidson drops ESKEDDITs, Rockwell wears a bald cap and breakdances as "Tooch." It's the kind of niche idea that feels reminiscent of the show's Lonely Island era of digital shorts.
Lil Pump released "Gucci Gang" last August. By December, it had reached No. 3 on the Hot 100. Pump recently made headlines when it was reported that Pump had left his deal with Warner Bros., getting out of his contract due to the fact that he had signed it as a minor. The South Florida rapper is said to be the subject of a label bidding war following his release from the deal. Pump released his self-titled project last October. Listen to it here.
