“In the city of New Orleans, the first 2 days is crucial in any homicide investigation. Detectives race against the clock to find witnesses willing to speak about what they know. This is one of those stories,” reads the opening statement in the newest offering from the original Big Tymers duo of Birdman and Mannie Fresh.
The pair originally reunited for the track “Designer Caskets,” found on the soundtrack of Baby’s Before Anythang: The Cash Money Story documentary on Apple Music, and now the two men return with a new visual treatment for the cut.
The video incorporates several elements, drawing inspiration from the “First 48” television show in which detectives are documented trying to get a break in a case within 48 hours while Birdman and Mannie Fresh find themselves in a backdrop inundated in tributes to New Orleans as a traditional krewe, or parade, takes place all around them.
