Chris brown is no stranger to controversy. Between his serious allegations for a domestic dispute with former girlfriend and recent collaborator, Rihanna, and an altercation involving Drake and Meek Mill in a NYC club last year, another abuse scandal wouldn't come as much of a surprise to anyone. However, Chris is in the clear on the recent police invasion of his L.A. home, which turned out to be another instance of the newly popular "Swatting" pranks.
TMZ reports that L.A. police received a call Monday afternoon from an anonymous caller. Said caller detailed a situation in which a mother and father were fighting, and the father had just left the room to get his gun. The caller provided Mr. Brown's address, failing to report it was the famous R&B singer's abode.
The cops arrived to the house to find Brown's staff, but Brown himself was absent. Needless to say, there was no evidence of the reported domestic abuse claim, after a thorough search of the home.
The police have lumped the prank call into a new trend of "Swatting" hoaxes. The purpose of the calls is to get police, and even SWAT teams to invade various celebrities homes, unbeknownst to either party. A similar call came to Beverly Hills police last week, regarding a fake armed robbery at Tom Cruise's mansion. Similar pranks have been played on the likes of Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber.
