President Trump is not at all pleased that LaVar Ball downplayed his role in helping the three UCLA basketball players return safely from China after they were arrested for shoplifting. Yesterday afternoon, Trump sent out a couple of tweets in which he called LaVar "very ungrateful" and said he should have left the three freshman, LiAngelo Ball, Jalen Hill and Cody Riley, in jail.
"Who?" Ball responded when asked about Trump's role in the situation. "What was he over there for? Don't tell me nothing. Everybody wants to make it seem like he helped me out."
"Now that the three basketball players are out of China and saved from years in jail, LaVar Ball, the father of LiAngelo, is unaccepting of what I did for his son and that shoplifting is no big deal," Trump tweeted. "I should have left them in jail!"
Trump later added, "Shoplifting is a very big deal in China, as it should be (5-10 years in jail), but not to father LaVar. Should have gotten his son out during my next trip to China instead. China told them why they were released. Very ungrateful!"
LaVar has not yet responded to any of those tweets but he will be making an appearance on CNN tonight so you can expect plenty of talk about Trump, and his recent tweets about the three UCLA basketball players
LiAngelo Ball, Jalen Hill and Cody Riley thanked Trump and the U.S. government upon returning home last week. The trio have since been suspended indefinitely by UCLA for shoplifting.
