While Rolling Loud's first outing on the West Coast on Saturday (October 21st) bore some violent altercations, positivity was still abound and ultimately, love was in the air.
As both Amber Rose and 21 Savage celebrate their birthdays this weekend, Rose on the 21st, and 21 on the 22nd, the Atlanta-bred rapper took the opportunity at the end of his set at Day 1 of Rolling Loud in The Bay to sing and wish his girlfriend a happy birthday.
In a brief clip, we get a touch of sensitivity from the "Rockstar" rapper has he sings out "Happy birthday, Amber & 21," before Rose rushes onstage to embrace him to a sea of applause.
21 Savage, now 25-years old, surely has plenty to celebrate as he recently landed one of his most successful singles to date in the form of his "Rockstar" collaboration alongside Post Malone, a track that broke a record on Apple Music after earning 25 million streams in the first week, and climbed to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, unseating Cardi B's "Bodak Yellow."
This now makes it only the fifth rap song of 2017 to peak at No. 1 on the charts. The two cuts are joined in the company of Kendrick Lamar's "Humble," Migos' "Bad and Boujee," and DJ Khaled's "I'm The One, featuring Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance The Rapper, and Lil Wayne.
In the midst of the success of "Rockstar," Post Malone came under fire for reports that alleged that his camp may have tried to play the system by inflating streaming numbers by posting a a clip on YouTube that is only a loop of the track's familiar hook, and links to official streams of the song.
"Whenever you live your dreams everyone wants to try to take it away from you," Post would soon tweet out in response to the claims.
No matter what, 21 Savage is certainly reaping in the benefits, and this Sunday is a fitting contrast to his birthday two years ago in which he almost lost his life after being shot 6 times.
Happy Birthday to 21, and may he have many more years and hits to come.
