A few weeks back, Nike and the NBA revealed the fourth uniform category, The City Edition, which follows the Association, Icon and Statement uniforms that teams have already worn this season.
According to Nike, each of the "City Edition" designs honor the fans – "those who, 41 times a year, take pilgrimage at their local arena, and whose passions help define each respective team’s identity."
Today, the Toronto Raptors have officially announced the details of their OVO-inspired black and gold "City Edition" Nike uniforms, as well as the special edition court that the team will play on when they don the OVO jerseys.
The uniforms feature six points in a chevron design which represents the six boroughs of Toronto, "NORTH" to "represent a territory all our own," and the black and gold color scheme which is a nod to Drake.
The jerseys have officially launched today, accompanied by a matching line of OVO x Raptors apparel, including shirts, shorts and socks. Click here to purchase the gear.
The Raptors, coming off a 34-point beat down of the Cleveland Cavs, have won seven of their last 10 and are currently sitting in second place in the Eastern Conference with a 29-11 record. The team will debut the "City Edition" Nike uniforms later this month on Friday, January 26th when they host the Utah Jazz.
