Preme sat down with us at our New York offices to come clean about many of his career choices. Consider this a precursor to the main event, or the unveiling of his debut album Light Of Day under the moniker. Preme explained to us the reasons why he changed his alias from P Reign, admitting that his old moniker was associated with misgivings he is ready to push past.
Rap fans outside of Canada are unfamiliar with the lore of his P Reign moniker, in many ways a point of inspiration for young Aubrey Graham within the scope of the local scene. Impressionable as he may be, Preme maintains that his current persona is nothing new. Preme was his childhood nickname before he became "a man of the people."
Midway through the interview he takes a moment to answer a broken call, then reverts back to his bucket list of claims. Preme humbly describes his recent collaboration with Lil Wayne as the realization of a childhood dream. He also doted on his relationship with younger rappers on the scene. His first meeting with Post Malone in particular, as he was coerced into taking the beerbong challenge upon entering the studio.
Although most of music is only now receiving international attention, many in the industry regard Preme with respect akin to reaching Emeritus status. Peep the conversation in full, and subscribe to the HNHH TV channel for more exclusive talks with your favorite artists.
