Another stretch of hope has been added to the possibility of a reboot of Martin as one of the show's original stars, Carl Anthony Payne, has added his voice to the conversation surrounding speculation of a possible reunion.
TMZ most recently caught up with the actor and comedian, known for his role as Cole Brown in the show, as Payne revealed that "people are talking" about the possibility of a reboot, and when asked if he'd be down to get in on the action, his response was a resounding yes.
"Why not? I think the people want it," Payne added on. "I think it's long overdue, you know what I'm saying? We created magic in a bottle and why not do it again?" He'd go on to state that he believed that the reboot could find a good home through the Netflix streaming platform. "I think there's a lot of room to grow there. And it would be smarter and better and funnier."
It was last week that Martin Lawrence and co-stars Tichina Arnold and Tisha Campbell sparked rumors of a Martin 2.0 when the trio was spotted at Morton's Steakhouse in Burbank. When a TMZ cameraman asked them about the possibility of a reboot, Lawrence responded with an assuring "Never say never."
The orginal series aired for five seasons from 1992 to 1997, and has since cemented its place among the ranks of classic television shows that have successfully served as both a demonstartion and preservation of the African-American experience in popular culture.
