Bronx Rapper MIKE has shared his new project Black Soap. The 7-track effort was written and produced by MIKE and Darryl Johnson. It also features instrumentation from additional lyrics and words from Adé Sayyed & Cheikhuana Bamba Fall and instrumentation by Standing on The Corner. The gritty and meandering songs at times recall the work of loopy experimentalists like Ka and Roc Marciano, but the compositions tend to be more open-ended and unpredictable. "Made with passion, love, and community," reads the album's description on Bandcamp. "Proof that it couldn't be live from nowhere else. Black Soap symbolizes a fight for understanding and truth."
The project, released without notice Friday, follows 2017's May God Bless Your Hustle.
