Daz Dillinger is having none of Kanye West's recent antics. By now, the narrative is well constructed. Kanye West employs a simile likening himself to the first Blood to shake a Crip's hand, essentially dubbing himself a catalyst for change. Evidently, one does not evoke gangland imagery lightly. Such is the lesson as taught by professor Dillinger, better known as Daz, the DPG legend. In Daz, Kanye found an unexpected enemy, who had no qualms about doling out threats to his person; the Dogg Pound OG even sent veiled messages to the matriarchal Kris Jenner. Now, Daz is back with another round.
Dillinger's "True To Self" finds Daz over a beat he's long been comfortable with, the G-Funk banger. He wastes little time in firing a relentless barrage of shots, never once hiding behind subliminal messages. Labeling Kanye an "Uncle Tom," Daz threatens to spray "Fuck Trump" on Kanye's Calabasas mansion. "Stop selling out your race," raps Daz, "and that stupid-ass smile off your face."
Quotable Lyrics
On TMZ, but they don't care
They'll have a new n***a next year
See you out in the cold, no more white fans, and no more souls
So you might have a heart attack
When you find out black folks don't want you back
