A highlight from Reese's new project "GetBackGang."

With Chief Keef becoming undeniably one of the most influential voices in rap over the past year, Chicago drill's importance is more clear than ever. Lil Reese is one of the rapper's who broke through in the subgenres first wave, and he's continued to make thrilling, uncompromising music since. Like his collaborator Lil Durk, who he released a project called Supa Vultures with last year, he's stuck within his lane, gradually building his strengths and growing as an artist in the most organic way possible. On "Get Back," he takes on some warm production that would have been unheard of back in the peak of his drill days, but his inventive flows and personal content sell it. "I caught a case, I'm like never again," he raps, expressing regret and maturity. It's one of many endearing moments across his new project GetBackGang, which you can stream in its entirety here. The project features guest appearances from Tee Grizzley and late Chicago rapper Fredo Santana, who passed away from an overdose earlier this year. The project follows solo tapes like 2017's Better Days, 2016's 300 Degrezzand 2015's Supa Savage 2.

Quotable Lyrics:
I'ma stick to the plan
Got to be smarter than the next man
I'm just sayin'
Tryna run my M's up
Fuck some bands
And I ain't out if
I ain't really got a plan
Ridin' round, I'm gettin' high
 I'm just sayin'
Ridin' with the same n***as
Since the sand
And we'll put you in a box
If you playin'
Wanna box, we can fight like a man
