It all started with a tweet from Blizzard Entertainment; a video game developer and publisher. Last week, they posted a video captioned "sweet dreams" depicting the demon from the "Diablo" games as a night light. The light is then switched off, leading fans to speculate a Diablo game is on its way to the Nintendo Switch gaming console. A Blizzard representative elaborated, "We can assure you we’re not that clever." However, that may not be the case.
Following up on the story, sources have mentioned to Eurogamer that there is, in fact, a Diablo game being readied for the Nintendo Switch. The game in question is a port of Diablo 3, and an official announcement is months away. This would make it the first Nintendo game from Blizzard in 18 years. Since the company is remaining tight-lipped, we're still unsure whether this rumored game will also include the expansions "Reaper of Souls" or "Rise of the Necromancer."
Diablo 3 is a role-playing game originally released in Spring 2012 for PC. It later hit the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, and in turn, the PS4 and Xbox One. Following this tradition, it looks likely that Blizzard will continue the game's legacy with a new system for a new audience.
