The Villanova Wildcats are among the favorites to win the 2018-19 NCAA title next season but they're not the odds on favorite.
Following Villanova's dominant performance against Michigan in last night's title game, OddsShark released the opening odds to win the 2018-19 NCAA men's basketball championship and the Wildcats check in at +800, which is second only to the Duke Blue Devils at +600.
Villanova, a team that has won two of the last three NCAA titles, could be without their two leading scorers next season, as juniors Jalen Brunson and Mikal Bridges are likely to opt for the NBA Draft, but they still have plenty of fire power on deck.
Donte DiVincenzo, who was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four, big men Omari Spellman and Eric Paschall, and guard Phil Booth are all expected to return to Nova next season which bodes well for a repeat performance. Not to mention, the Wildcats have a couple highly touted recruits coming in, including five-star guard Jahvon Quinerly.
However, Coach K and the Blue Devils have secured four five-star recruits for the 2018-19 season, including R.J. Barrett, Cameron Reddish, Zion Williamson and Tre Jones. According to Rivals.com, Barrett, Reddish and Williamson are the top-3 recruits in the incoming freshman class, while Jones is 8th overall.
Other college basketball blue bloods like the Kansas Jayhawks, Kentucky Wildcats and UNC Tar Heels round out the Top-5 of best odds to win the 2018-19 NCAA basketball title.
