To promote his newly released Gemini album, Macklemore made his way by the ABC studios Tuesday night and served as the show’s musical guest.
Following his performance on Ellen earlier this week with Kesha where he performed their collab “Good Old Days,” Macklemore decided to continue his Gemini promo by taking over the big stage outside the studio backed by a live band & perform his biggest feature from the album “Willy Wonka” featuring Offset of the Migos. Both draped in some long designer coats, Macklemore & Offset deliver a boisterous performance that got the crowd extra hype and clapping along with them. For a late night appearance, this is pretty dope performance to say the least, and one fans were definitely getting into.
Speaking on his collab with Offset, Macklemore had the following to say about linking up with the Migos rapper:
"I really like Offset as a person, he's one of those people [who] immediately he's the homie, we have a lot of common interests," Macklemore told Rolling Stone. "We got in the studio and at first I was like, 'Do you want to write to this?' And he looked at me like, What the fuck? He was like, "Write?! Nope." Just turn the beat on in the booth. Just like Yachty did and just like Jay does and Wayne and a bunch of other people, he just took it bar-by-bar every couple bars and freestyled that catered to the melody and put words to it and absolutely destroyed his verse. It's one of my favorite Offset verses ever.
Check out the live performance (below) and be sure to read our recently published review of his Gemini album right here if you missed it. I have also included his performance on Ellen the other day as well in case you missed that with Kesha as well. Look for a new music video for "Willy Wonka" to be on the way. Stay tuned.
