Mike WiLL Made-It should be proud. The EarDrummers founder has been responsible for quarterbacking some of the year's strongest releases thus far, from Trouble's chilling Edgewood to the triumphant and ambitious SR3MM trifecta. Today, his signees coalesce on a Jxmtroduction banger, the simply titled "Cap." Picking up where the cold synthetics of Edgewood left off, "Cap's" minor key arrangement and driving 808s provide a haunting background for the pair of capable emcees. Perhaps appropriately, the album (and by extension this particular chapter) serves as a worthy introduction of Jxmmi's talents, which you would be remiss to overlook.
Sometimes brushed off in favor of his melodically inclined contemporary, Jxmi's charisma and rugged delivery solidify him as a formidable force in his own right. He navigates Mike WiLL & co's icy production with lines like "Rich n***a still eat ramen, and I'm so hot like Arson, and I'm so smart like Carlton, blowin' purp at the Ritz Carlton." In all fairness, an appetite for ramen is not something that fades with time; if anything, it only intensifies.
Breakout star Trouble comes through for the assist, proving well familiar with the haunted-trap house aesthetic propagated by the EarDrummers association. In, just like the perps, know you liable, get too close, diamonds might fuck round and bite 'em," growls Trouble. "Kept me in a bluff, I'm plottin', hard as fuck up on a wrist rocket, chained like a goddamn Nazi." Don't sleep on this fire.
Quotable Lyrics
I hit all the chitter-chatter, pay no mind I just fill my blunt up
Where they at where your bitches gather in my hood then we hit 'em after
So do me a favor, keep all the gossip on ten, you help me get poppin' I'm in
In, just like the perps, know you liable, get too close, diamonds might fuck round and bite 'em
Kept me in a bluff, I'm plottin', hard as fuck up on a wrist rocket, chained like a goddamn Nazi
