Not all returns can be triumphant, and Atlanta’s Landstrip Chip is making sure he lands on the right side of that narrative. After a brief hiatus, the emcee dropped off a music video for a track titled “Intro” earlier in the week in a simplistic cut as he recited lines like, “Threw my lawyer ten even though I couldn’t afford it/Came home cut some n-ggas off/Ever since I been recording.”
The end result of that mindset came to be Chip’s From My Point Of View debut effort. On the project, he enlists assists from the likes of Dae Dae, Kap G, TK Kravitz, and EarDrummers’ signee Eearz.
Standouts include the boastful “Voss” as he and TK Kravitz trade off on lyrics detailing jewels best described by the high-end bottled water brand of the same name and the more introspective “Came A Long Way.” Both tracks are indicative of the balance that Landstrip Chip successfully maintains throughout the project, effectively dishing out his “point of view” from all sides.
