Last night's episode of WWE Monday Night Raw kicked off with a segment featuring Raw General Manager Kurt Angle, commissioner Stephanie McMahon, WWE COO Triple H, and former UFC star "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey. WWE has been leading to a match including all four ever since Rousey's televised contract signing last month and last night they made it official.
As expected, Kurt Angle announced that he will be teaming with Rousey at Wrestlemania 34 in a match against Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. As the storyline dictates, Angle has the power to book matches because of his title as Raw GM. Of course, simply announcing the match would not have been entertaining enough.
Following a brief ambush by "The Authority," Rousey delivered a Samoan drop to McMahon while her Wrestlemania 34 tag team partner put Triple H in his patented ankle lock.
MMA Fighting's Dave Meltzer had previously reported that WWE was hoping to team Rousey up with The Rock to take on Triple H and his wife, but ultimately went with Angle due to the fact that The Rock hasn't had a match since 2013.
Wrestlemania 34 will take place on April 8th at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. Rousey is scheduled to appear on the four remaining episodes of Monday Night Raw leading up to the company's biggest PPV of the year.
