The newest internet phenomenon of the "Harlem Shake" has almost reached it's end (we can hope), but before that, Jim Jones puts in a word concerning Baauer's electronic hit.
During an interview with Jenny Boom Boom, Jim Jones spoke on "Harlem Shake" and revealed that original song actually featured him. He explains that he recorded a verse over the "Harlem Shake" beat for Pauly D's album, but they never used it. Once Baauer released the track, Jim decided to drop his version.
Jim explained, "Actually, that record was mine for a year, I had that record a year ago and I never was... It was supposed to be for Pauly D's album and we never did nothing with it. When I started to hear the 'Harlem Shake' and heard the beat, I was like damn, I had the record for a year. So I just put the record out. I been had that record before anybody even thought about that record. It was a record for Pauly D's album from 'Jersey Shore.'"
Along with Jim Jones, we've heard a freestyle from another Harlemite Azealia Banks, who subsequently beefed with Baauer over the beat.
