Los Angeles producer Yogi has drafted an eclectic cast of characters to send off a favorite musical genre of his, the prevailing Afrobeats sound from Western Africa. In doing so, he hopes to induce domestic interest in African music, covertly present in Western pop culture in places we fail to recognize. Yogi's inspiration told him to add percussive elements to existing parameters of the genre, in order to render the beat "rappable."
The vocal appearances represent three converging elements he hopes to weave together. Maleek Berry from Nigeria, insists he isn't much of a talker when it comes to showings of affection or desire. Next in line, Kid Ink from Los Angeles, depicts a scene out of Party Monster, with the extras filing out after daybreak. Yogi also calls upon a Ray BLK, a leading voice in the UK hip hop fold, to lay the hook, itself an interpolation of Julio Bashmore's "Au Seve."
Quotable Lyrics:
Berry 'pon this
Lil mama you going to catch a case
That thing you're doing (with your waist)
I'ma call the police on your behind
See I don't lie
