Their goal is to punish employers who take on illegal immigrant workers.

New reports reveal that dozens of 7-Eleven stores were raided by federal immigration agents in a bid to seek out undocumented workers. The agents demanded paperwork from the managers of each location to prove the workers' status as legal immigrants, in a move that the Trump administrations deems its largest enforcement operation against employers thus far. According to The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the initiative swept 98 stores in 17 states, and resulting in 19 arrests.

This comes as a result of an intensified bid to terminate any existing practices in hiring undocumented immigrants.

Speaking with the press, Thomas D. Homan, the acting director of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement, revealed that "today’s actions send a strong message to U.S. businesses that hire and employ an illegal work force: ICE will enforce the law, and if you are found to be breaking the law, you will be held accountable."

Furthermore, Homan has promised to exercise a heightened surveillance against employers who knowingly break the law in order to hire workers who lack proper employment eligibility.

President Trump has made it increasingly difficult for undocumented immigrants to assimilate into America, as they have either been sought out arrested from their own homes, or detained during immigration court cases.
