Having collaborated heavily with Wax, as well as made tracks with Anderson .Paak, Blu, Chamillionaire, Dumbfounded, Asher Roth and Shad, EOM became one of hip-hop's in-demand beat-makers. A producer who could do no wrong, EOM meshed different styles to create masterpieces for many artists, but he is perhaps most recognized for his work with the aforementioned. Today, we say goodbye to EOM, or Elements of Music, as he has unfortunately passed away following health complications stemming from the auto-immune disease scleroderma.
A Juno-award winning producer, his loss is incredibly significant in the landscape of Canadian music and culture. EOM had recently released Danielito, a project where EOM took control of the mic for the first time instead of simply crafting the beats. The EP, featuring Wax, Lacree, and Blake Johnston, shows Elements of Music exploring his musical versatility, rapping and singing while also commandeering engineering and production duties. Danielito remains available to stream on the artist's Bandcamp page here, as well as many of his previous works.
We extend our condolences to EOM's family and friends as we grieve a significant loss in the hip-hop community. His frequent collaborator Wax reacted to the news of his passing, as well as Asher Roth who have tweeted out the following. RIP Elements of Music.
