It was incredibly saddening to report on Lil Lonnie's passing yesterday. The 22-year-old was murdered in a fatal shooting just before midnight yesterday, leading many to keep his family and friends in their prayers. The young rapper showed so much promise, collaborating with Bryson Tiller, Blac Youngsta, Jxmmi, Moneybagg Yo, K Camp and many others. While it arrives under unfortunate circumstances, Lonnie's new track "Ease My Mind" has been released on one of his producer's SoundCloud pages for the public to either celebrate his legacy or get introduced to his talent.
Releasing several mixtapes and albums over the years, "Ease My Mind" shows Lonnie at his best, flowing seamlessly over production by DeeMoney, SupremeTeam, and Mattazikmuzik. Lonnie likely had a lot more in the vault, which may be released over time but, depending on his team's wishes, this may be the last we hear from LL.
Lonnie was tragically shot while he allegedly drove a car, crashing into a house shortly after. The young rapper was one of the hottest rising talents in the South with his mixtapes and projects consistently being scouted and praised by users and critics alike. His passing may be untimely but his legacy will live on forever through his art.
RIP Lil Lonnie.
Quotable Lyrics:
I'm just tryna ease my mind, tryna ease my mind
It's all fake love 'cause I'm in my prime
And all the fake shit is gettin' left behind
I'm just tryna ease my mind, tryna ease my mind
