Thieves steal $400,000 worth of property from Venus Williams' home.

Venus Williams' Florida home was reportedly burglarized while she was playing in the U.S. Open back in September, and the thieves made off with over $400,000 worth of valuables according to a report by WPEC-TV.

Palm Beach Gardens Police Department believe Venus' home was broken into sometime between September 1st and September 5th, which is when she was playing in the U.S. Open in New York. The stolen property is listed on the report, but it's redacted, according to WPEC-TV. Venus lost in the semifinals on September 7th to eventual champion Sloane Stephens in three sets.

The 37-year old tennis star was recently deposed in a wrongful death suit over the fatal car crash that killed an elderly man, Jerome Barson, last June. According to ABC News, Barson's wife, Linda Barson, was driving a Hyundai Accent when it hit Williams' Toyota Sequoia at an intersection. He was taken to a local hospital and died more than a week later from organ failure.

The family claims Williams is at fault for being in the middle of the intersection on a red light.

The lawsuit against Williams, filed by the Barsons' daughter, alleges wrongful death action, and the family is seeking damages in excess of $15,000, according to ABC News

After the police surveillance footage of the accident was released, Williams' attorney, Malcolm Cunningham, said in a statement, "once Ms. Williams entered the intersection lawfully, she had the right to proceed through the intersection and other vehicles including those with a red light changing to green, were obligated to yield the right-of-way to Ms. Williams."

Cunningham added, "Ms. Williams is grateful for the continued diligence and efforts of the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department in its investigation. At the same time, as this process moves forward, she remains deeply saddened by the loss suffered by the Barson family and continues to keep them in her thoughts and prayers."
