Professional boxer Jermall Charlo was reportedly robbed of $40,000 and an additional $115,000 worth of jewelry during an altercation at Jay Z's 40/40 club in New York City, according to the New York Post.
The 27-year old boxer was allegedly partying with his assistant and several others at the 40/40 club early Sunday morning when he got into a “physical altercation” with someone around 3am. Charlo's assistant reportedly handed a bag, which contained the $40K cash and jewelry, to one of the women that Charlo was partying with. That proved to be a costly mistake because the woman and her four friends then took off with the bag amid the scuffle.
Per the New York Post,
"Police are now on the hunt for the bag thief and her entourage, who were all caught on security camera leaving the club."
"Cops describe the main bag-snatch suspect as a white woman with straight blond hair, around 5 feet 10 and 165 pounds. She was last seen wearing a dress, a jacket and carrying a blue bag."
Charlo, who is 26-0 in his boxing career, had been at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Saturday night watching the fights prior to going to the club, according to a Boxing Scene report. He had been scheduled to fight Hugo Centeno Jr. at Barclays, but their bout was postponed due to Centeno suffering a rib injury, according to the NY Post.
