Bryson Tiller's 2015 debut album Trapsoul may have put him on the map and lead to his growing success but in a recent interview with Tim Westwood, the True To Self rapper admits that his first tape dented his confidence after negative comments online.
“I’m my biggest hater and my worst critic, so when I see all these people saying things it’s like I’m agreeing with them," Bryson said. “All these things just kinda took a toll on me. I went through a lot of crazy things," he adds, detailing some issues he went through with his former management. "I was in a dark dark place after Trapsoul. It hindered me from everything you know, my creative process, everything,” he continued, “It made me stop believing in myself. I just wanted to start over.”
As for upcoming music from the R&B singer, he admits he's got two projects in the works. "I've got a lot of stuff, a lot of beats that I've been sitting on for a while. Just because I felt like I wasn't in the mind space to approach those beats at the time. Now I'm back on it and more confident in the studio."
