A couple weeks ago, Quavo got into a fight with famed jeweler Eric The Jeweler at a Grammy after party in NYC over some unpaid work. The story goes that Erik ran into Quavo at 1Oak nightclub in New York City and confronted him about a $10K debt Offset allegedly owes him for some work that he did in the past, and Quavo didn't appreciate that. So Quavo and another man reportedly beat the crap out of Erik and ended up stealing his $30,000 chain in the process.
While nothing had been done about it since this report first surfaced a few weeks ago, it looks like Quavo might now be facing some legal trouble. According to TMZ, NYPD detectives have gotten in contact with Quavo’s attorney Drew Findling, and have informed him they have enough evidence to arrest Quavo. They say there’s no warrant out for his arrest, but it’s only a matter of time before he gets popped.
Quavo's attorney, Findling, says his client is an innocent man, and he hopes NYPD & the Manhattan DA doesn't make a mistake by arresting & prosecuting him. "This is yet another example of a young African-American hip hop star potentially being treated unfairly by the criminal justice system,” Findling said.
This reports comes in the midst of the Migos’ historic run as the group just scored another #1 album with Culture II and also tied the Beatles record for most simultaneous hits on the Hot 100 for a group. Hopefully Quavo’s attorney can straighten things out for him.
We’ll keep you posted as more information on this story develops.
