Originally projected to move around 200k units in its debut week, after almost unanimously positive word of mouth, the projections for good kid, m.A.A.d. city were adjusted to land between 220k-240k and they were dead on, as the first week numbers are in, and Kendrick Lamar’s LP moved 242,122 units, according to HDD.
Even with one of the biggest debut weeks of the past few months, it still wasn’t enough for the Compton kid to land at no. 1 on the Billboard 200, as that distinction belongs to Taylor Swift and her insane sales with RED clocking in around 1.2 million.
Not solely content with just the album, K.Dot released a new huge single today with production from J. Cole. Check it out here.
