Kid Cudi has been slowly leading up to his album, indicud, by dropping singles along the way and small amounts of information on the LP. However, it doesn't seem like he's in full promo mode just yet. The G.O.O.D. music rapper shared some more details about the anticipated album with Billboard the other day, and revealed some of the features.
One of those features is Kendrick Lamar, which K. Dot had previously spoke on, but now were hearing it from Cudder himself. Another two mentioned by Cudi are RZA and Too Short. A$AP Rocky is also a potential candidate for feature on inidcud.
"I’ve done a lot of collabs with people that, on paper, people are going to be like, 'Oh shit!' It’s already been put out there that I did a song with Too Short," Kid Cudi said. "I can wait for people to hear that. That’s one of those jams that you wouldn’t expect and it’s exactly what you expect of Kid Cudi. There’s a lot of energy. It’s one of my favorites. RZA for sure is on there. Too Short and Kendrick Lamar is on there. I got a session with A$AP [Rocky] tonight. So we’ll see what happens. We’ve been working the last couple of days. I got this group called Haim...they’re so dope. We were able to do a jam with something me and Hit-Boy did. It’s a song that we’ve been trying to make happen for, like, two years now. I had the idea to get the girls on it and we reworked the beat a little bit. That will definitely be on there."
Cudder also spoke on his production, as he's been creating a lot of the music for the album, including the recent single "Immortal" (which he says took him thirty minutes). Cudi says that indicud is almost what his first LP should have sounded like.
"Working on this album made me realize that I just have a knack for creating music. It’s a gift. And there’s no denying it. “Just What I Am” took me all of 10 minutes to make. “Immortal” maybe took 30 minutes. It’s not hard for me. “Indicud” is almost what my first album should have sounded like, had I really been able to channel all of the ideas I had into music. That’s the beauty of this album. The ideas are coming straight from me and me only. It’s exactly what I want to the T. I went out of my way to make “Immortal” sound perfect. “Immortal,” “Just What I Am,” and “King Wizard,” those are perfect beats. Not a lot of people can perform on them. I say that meaning they’re tailor-made for me. That’s the cool shit."
