BAPE is known for their graphic logos that are particularly random but beloved by fans of the Japanese streetwear label. The most well-known is the monkey motif, which has withstood the test of time and become the brand's signature. However, another one of their timeless emblems is their shark, who appears to be more terrified than menacing when emblazoned on clothing and accessories.
BAPE has tapped this quintessential motif for a pair of jeans that are warm weather appropriate. This new denim style a lightweight denim pant that is stonewashed in a shade of light blue, giving the garment an aged and withered appearance. However, the jeans are infused with a whimsical touch by placing the brand's fearful shark across the crotch area. These pants will immediately give its wearer as a sense of brand affinity, as they proudly exclaim BAPE's unique identity for all to witness.
Recently, the streetwear brand also unveiled their collaboration with Adidas. The Dame 4 collection, inspired by professional basketball star Damian Lillard, will be released in advance of the upcoming NBA All-Star game. Akin to the BAPE, these sneakers are rendered in colourful prints that are reminiscent of the shark logo and other classic hallmarks such as the camouflage print.
