Last week, Wiz Khalifa revealed that his highly-anticipated Rolling Papers 2 project was in fact complete, but before it arrives he’ll be hitting us with a new mixtape ahead of time called Laugh Now, Fly Later, which he said would be dropping on November 10th. While we’ve yet to hear any singles from Wiz lately, the T.G.O.D general decided to hop on his social media on Tuesday and give us a preview of what he’s been cooking up.
“Rolling paper I aint smoking blunts (kush) oh a day its two pounds a month/ Put it in my lungs then Im good/ Only smoking fire like I should,” Wiz raps in the clip while smoking a joint in the process.
Unfortunately, there’s little information on the record, like what its called or if it’ll even be featured on the upcoming Laugh Now Fly Later mixtape, but Wiz fans should definitely be happy to hear it aligns perfectly with his previous weed-infused sound.
This footage comes just days after Wiz was spotted in the studio with Travis Scott working on some new music. It's unclear if what they worked on will see life on the upcoming Wiz mixtape or on one of the two’s upcoming albums, but it definitely has us anticipating to hear it (see here if you missed it). Aside from Travis, Wiz was also recently spotted cooking up with legendary producer & artist Pharrell last week in the studio as well. So it appears some big collabs are on the way.
For now, check out the clip of Wiz’s unreleased record and let us know what you think! Sounding fire or nah?
In other related news, Wiz Khalifa is also coming off the release of two mini EP this Summer called Pre-Rolleds & Bong Rips, both of which had four songs on them. Pre-Rolleds featured guest appearances from Chevy Woods (twice) and Kris Hollis, meanwhile production was handled entirely by in-house producer Sledgren. Bong Rips on the other hand featured Chevy Woods & G.O.O.D. Music rapper Desiigner, the latter of which appears on the standout record “X 4 X.”
