It’s safe to say Diddy & DJ Khaled are some of the biggest hip-hop moguls in the game right now. DJ Khaled has exploded into mainstream popularity thanks to his takeover of Snapchat these past two years and Diddy is well… Diddy, and the #1 earner in hip-hop according to Forbes. So to hear news that the two superstars are in talks about being judges for an upcoming show on Fox doesn’t come much of a shock, and that’s exactly what TMZ is reporting today.
According to TMZ, Diddy & DJ Khaled are deep in negotiations with Fox for a new talent competition show called "The Four.” While neither have officially signed on yet, sources told TMZ both are far along with the process.
TMZ reports that the show, “The Four,” will consist of 4 judges just as the title depicts. Diddy would serve as the mogul, DJ Khaled as the producer, and there’s two more spots available, one of which will be a songwriter, and the fourth judge will be a performer. At least one of the remaining two spots will be a woman they say as well, and rightfully so.
The focus of the show will be contemporary pop with an emphasis on hip-hop. It will be an ongoing battle, with new competitors trying to knock out the front-runners. In the end, the winner will get the entire judges panel behind them to launch their music career… a mogul, a producer, a songwriter, and someone to perform onstage with.
There’s no word yet as for when the show will premiere, but if they can land Diddy & DJ Khaled to participate as judges it’ll definitely be worth checking out the first time around.
This news comes just days after finding out that DJ Khaled will once again be hosting this year’s BET Hip Hop Awards. "I am so excited to host the BET Hip Hop Awards for a second year,” Khaled said. "This is such an iconic show that highlights the hustle of hip hop artists in the industry. It is a huge honor to be a part of a night that pays homage to some of the greatest talent of our generation and I’m looking forward to the amazing performances and tributes. You know I’ll be bringing the cloth talk and the keys – Hip Hop Awards 2017 is going to be major!"
