Thomas is headed to LA

Isaiah Thomas' time with the Cleveland Cavaliers has come to an end almost as soon as it got started. The Cavs have agreed to trade Thomas, Channing Frye and their 2018 first round pick to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr.

Thomas, 29, played in just 15 games for the Cavs this season after recovering from a hip injury. In those 15 games this season he is averaging 14.7 points and 4.5 assist per night. According to ESPN Stats & Info, when LeBron and Isaiah were on the floor this season the Cavs were outscored by 15.5 points per 100 possessions.

Jordan Clarkson, 25, is averaging 14.5 points, 3.3 assists and 3 rebounds per night. He has appeared in all of the Lakers' 53 games this season but has only started twice.

According to ESPN' Brian Windhorst, because the Cavs included their first round pick in the trade, they are now barred from dealing the Brooklyn Nets first rounder they own until after the draft. For the Lakers, trading Clarkson and Nance Jr. opens space for two more max contracts in 2018 or 2019, according to Wojnarowski.

The Cavs, 31-22, are currently sitting in third place in the Eastern Conference.
