Following all the backlash that H&M has deservingly garnered this week for their controversial ad depicting a young black child wearing a "Coolest Monkey in the Jungle" hoodie, it appears Diddy is rumored to be preparing a contract offer for that little boy.
According to the British newspaper Metro, Diddy is reportedly offering the little boy in the picture a one-million dollar modeling contract to join him at his own clothing company, Sean John.
There’s no word yet if the young boy has accepted, and Diddy’s people refused to comment when approached about the offer, but it would certainly be a great twist and outcome to the controversial shit storm that was H&M's distasteful ad.
Not only is Diddy rumored to have offered the little boy a contract, but he also came to his defense on Instagram the other day and posted a picture of the boy with the caption reading "Coolest King in the World."
Diddy wasn't the only one to bash H&M however. The Weekend & G-Eazy have both ended their partnership with the clothing store, while YG, Pusha T & T.I. have all voiced their displeasure for the racist ad as well.
H&M has since issued a public apology, saying: "We understand that many people are upset about the image of the children’s hoodie. We, who work at H&M, can only agree. We’re deeply sorry that the picture was taken, and we also regret the actual print. Therefore, we’ve not only removed the image from our channels, but also the garment from our product offering. ‘It’s obvious that our routines haven’t been followed properly. This is without any doubt. We’ll thoroughly investigate why this happened to prevent this type of mistake from happening again."
We’ll continue to keep you posted moving forward.
