Lil Durk follows up on his Just Cause Ya'll Waited Project once again with a new video to his track "Crossroads." The JerryPhD video is a memorable one as it tributes Bone Thugs-N-Harmony's 1996 video of the same name, as we see Durk posted next to a casket.
The visuals feature clips of Durk's fallen friend Fredo Santana as the track addresses his tragic passing that took place in in January. "That shit with Fredo got me tweakin'/They not cryin', they just tweetin'/Ain't no time to do no grievin," he raps.
"The "Crossroads" video means a lot to me because Bone Thugs was a big influence on me growing up," he told Complex. "I wish I could've had them in the video but this was a way to capture the lyrics of the song into a visual that makes people think. RIP Fredo. Put the cup down, because I did."
Durk's latest tape is the first since leaving Def Jam after fire years with the label.
"I've been with Def Jam Records for five years and they gave me my first recording contract so for that I'm forever grateful, but I'm a different artist than I was five years ago, and the time is right for a change," he said. "At the same time, Def Jam is making changes in their offices and trying a new direction. I didn't want to be a part of another regime change."
