It's been a massive year for Tyler, The Creator as not only an artist but as an entrepreneur and overall artistic visionary. He dropped his fourth studio album, which is arguably one of his best pieces of work in recent times. It was a change of pace in his music but felt like Tyler found a place of comfort in what he was creating. It highlighted his jazz influences and he paired it incredibly well with hip hop. Since then, the album received a well-deserved Grammy nomination for Best Rap Album. Now, he took the project to deliver a stunning performance of a few cuts off the project for his NPR Tiny Desk performance.
With a live band backing him, Tyler, The Creator hit the NPR's office for a stunning performance of a few cuts off his most recent album. The rapper/producer handled the vocals with a keyboard in front of him while he led the drummer, keyboardist, bassist and two female vocalists for the performance. Tyler performed "Boredom," "See You Again," and "Glitter" during his set. Being the creative force he is, Tyler also came through to install his own lighting for the show which brought a whole different vibe in comparison to other Tiny Desk performances. It's a dope, laid-back performance that adds a different feel to the Flower Boy cuts.
For anyone hoping to see Tyler the Creator live, he'll be hitting the road next year with Vince Staples on a co-headlining tour around North America.
